Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm that the manuscript complies with the following requirements. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors.

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of Natura Dinarica.
  • The manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the journal’s Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript is submitted as an editable text file, preferably in Microsoft Word format.
  • The manuscript text is formatted in Times New Roman, 12 pt, with double line spacing, 2.5 cm margins, numbered pages, and line numbers.
  • The manuscript includes all required sections, where applicable: title page, abstract, keywords, main text, acknowledgements, funding statement, conflict of interest statement, references, appendices, and supplementary material.
  • The title page includes the full title, author names, affiliations, addresses, ORCID iDs where available, corresponding author’s e-mail address, and a short running title.
  • The abstract is between 100 and 250 words and does not contain references, tables, or figures.
  • Five to ten keywords are provided.
  • The manuscript includes the required summary in the other journal language: a Serbian summary for manuscripts written in English, or an English summary for manuscripts written in Serbian.
  • Titles, captions, and legends of tables and figures are provided in both Serbian and English.
  • All tables and figures are cited in the text, numbered consecutively, and provided with clear and informative captions.
  • Tables and figures are included in the manuscript file and also uploaded as separate files, where required.
  • Figures are submitted in appropriate quality and resolution for publication.
  • All references cited in the text are included in the reference list, and all references in the reference list are cited in the text.
  • References and in-text citations are formatted according to APA 7th edition.
  • DOI links or URLs are provided for references where available.
  • Scientific names, units, abbreviations, and terminology are used consistently throughout the manuscript.
  • Permission has been obtained for the use of copyrighted material, including figures, tables, maps, photographs, or other third-party content, where applicable.
  • Required permits, ethical approvals, or legal permissions related to protected species, protected areas, field sampling, animal research, human participants, or sensitive data are stated in the manuscript, where applicable.
  • All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript and agree with its submission to Natura Dinarica.
  • All sources of funding or support have been disclosed, where applicable.
  • Any actual or potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed. If there are no conflicts of interest, this is stated in the manuscript.
