Editorial and Publication Policy

Natura Dinarica is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial integrity, scientific quality, transparency, and responsible publishing practice. The journal publishes original contributions in forestry, environmental sciences, nature conservation, biodiversity, and related disciplines, in accordance with its aims and scope.

Editorial responsibility

The editorial process is managed by the Editor-in-Chief, supported by the Editorial Board and, when necessary, external experts. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision on the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts.

Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and compliance of the manuscript with the journal’s aims, scope, author guidelines, and editorial standards.

Types of contributions

The journal publishes the following types of contributions:

  • original scientific papers;
  • preliminary communications;
  • review papers;
  • professional papers.

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscript submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines and that all required information, statements, and accompanying files are provided during submission.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s scope, author guidelines, or basic scientific and technical standards may be returned to authors for correction or rejected before peer review.

Initial editorial screening

All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial office and/or the Editor-in-Chief. This initial screening considers whether the manuscript fits the journal’s aims and scope, whether it meets basic standards of scientific quality and presentation, and whether it is suitable for further evaluation.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are sent for peer review. The detailed peer review procedure is described in the journal’s Peer Review Process policy.

Editorial decisions

Based on the reviewers’ reports and editorial assessment, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, resubmission for further review, or rejection.

The final decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Publication model

Natura Dinarica is published exclusively online. Articles are published continuously within each issue after final acceptance and production.

Upon publication, each article is assigned complete bibliographic information, including volume, issue, year, DOI, and a unique Article ID, which replaces traditional page numbering.

Corrections after publication

The journal may publish corrections when significant errors are identified in published articles. Corrections are issued when necessary to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Cases involving ethical concerns, research misconduct, expressions of concern, or retractions are handled in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics policy.
